Bayern young forward Jonah Cusi-Assare on permanent transfer to Fulham
Bayern Munich young striker Jonah Kusi-Assare on permanent transfer to Fulham. He made his final appearance for Bayern in the 86th minute of the 6–0 win over RB Leipzig on the first matchday of 2025/26. Went on loan to Fulham in September 2025 and failed to score in seven substitute appearances, convincing the London club to secure a permanent deal.
Jonah Cusi-Assare's journey with Bayern Munich has come to an end. The 18-year-old striker, who has been named as a forward for the Sweden Under-21 team, has now joined Fulham on a permanent basis, having already played on loan. The transfer was officially announced by the record champion on Saturday.
Kusi-Asareku came on in the 86th minute of the 6–0 win over RB Leipzig on the opening matchday of the 2025/26 season, making his final appearance for Bayern. He then moved on loan to Fulham in September 2025. He only made seven appearances as a substitute (goals: 0) for the west London club, who finished 11th in the Premier League, yet impressed the decision-makers with his talent and secured a permanent deal.
"Jonah Cusi-Assare joined our academy at the age of 16. He is another example of our approach to bringing international talent to the top level. He convinced the authorities there with his performances at Fulham last season. We want him to prepare his next goals there," commented Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl.
Cusi-Asaray has been signed by Bayern for the start of 2024 from AIK Solna for a fee in the single-digit million euros (reportedly around 3.5 million euros). His first move to Munich saw him stay on the Bayern campus and play for the under-19 team — six goals in 18 appearances. He was later promoted to the second team and scored two goals in 13 matches in the Regionalliga Bavaria competition.
He also got chances with the first team in the last warm-up season. But after Bayern brought in Nicolas Jackson as Harry Kane's back-up, the 1.96m forward's chances in the first team dwindled. It was then that Fulham's rental chapter began.
Bayern received a fee of around four million euros for this rental deal. Combined with the latest permanent transfer, the entire business is thought to be profitable in the club's eyes, although the final amount has not been disclosed by the clubs.
This is a promising signing for Fulham; On behalf of Bayern, there is clarity in the young forward line-up. The Munich club wishes Kusi-Asare all the best in his new chapter.
