USA continues to train in a relaxed environment ahead of a crucial clash in the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage. Lunuga players are keeping their mindset powerful and preparing to face Bosnia and Herzegovina with aggressive tactics. America's coach Mauricio Pochettino is encouraging the team with determination and preparing them with the goal of "final competition like this".
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA: Under conditions at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, Team USA players continued training with smiles. A playful celebration was seen between Weston McKenney and Tyler Adams in a friendly manner. The normally serious Christian Pulisic also showed off his friend's chemistry.
Expectations are also high on the USA, who are going to face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIFA World Cup 2026 'Round of 32' knockout. A Pulisic, McKennie, Adams combination will inspire America in Wednesday's clash at the nearby San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino has been motivating the team with the genuine question 'Why not be us?' The hopes of the fans have increased for the USA, who finished the last two matches successfully and topped Group D.
But there is a warning that Bosnia, which is considered to be a milky team, should not give in easily. Especially since Pochettino took over, the USA team has not won against European teams. This time, the American fans are stepping forward with confidence in situations where they should expect to win first.
USA defender Chris Richards said, 'We're not looking forward to the negatives. He said that we will fight strongly in full control, gradually and in preparation. Coach Pochettino also encouraged the team to face the ordeal with grace, saying 'relaxation breeds confidence'.
Christian Pulisic said, 'It's a one-of-a-kind final, safety only if we win, not if we have to go home. That is why it is important to pay attention to all the details and be mentally strong.
In the meantime, Team USA is treading cautiously as something unpredictable happens in world football, especially with many of the favorites out. USA, ranked 15th in the FIFA rankings, looks huge; But Bosnia (61st place) is sure to show fighting spirit too. Pochettino clarified: 'It's like a World Cup final. We are keeping our focus on this.'
