Bari Stadium Controversy: Vito Lechasse-De Laurentiis Meeting Possible Today; As a monopoly alternative
The dispute between the mayor and the De Laurentiis family continues in the dispute over the use of a stadium in the city of Bari. Altamura and Monopoli stadiums were requested as alternatives for the club's home fixture, but local authorities responded with lenient requirements. The resolution is urgently needed as the lease-registration deadline of 16 June approaches.
The issue of where the Bari club should play their home matches for the upcoming season has become a headache between the city's politics, administration and sporting needs. There is currently a tense standoff over the use of the stadium between Mayor Vito Lechse and the De Laurentiis family: the mayor has reportedly said the city will not allow the club to use the stadium until the club's future and multi-ownership regulations are in place in 2028.
Against a background of brass, Il Quotidiano di Puglia reports that a meeting between Luigi De Laurentiis and the mayor is likely to take place today. The meeting will essentially be an effort to immediately settle the choice of stadium required for the club's successive deposit: the Championship registration deadline set for June 16 approaches.

The company has also asked for available options at Altamura and Monopoli to defend itself — to use the Tonino D'Angelo or Vinzeni stadiums as their home. However, there was an immediate denial from the mayor of Altamura. Moreover, the public image issues related to the management of those stadiums should also be fully analyzed together with the Bari Police (Questura).
Shifting home matches to smaller capacity arenas will require a redesign in spectator management, transport, vehicle planning and security. Officials suggest that there is a possibility of additional manpower being required especially on match days due to limited manpower. There is a risk that the San Nicola stadium will be so empty in this scene, and there may be a high risk of the new things becoming a political, administrative, sporting sensation due to the lack of transparency.
Finally, although the club needs to quickly confirm the appropriate imprint to use in their registration document, the communal authorities want adequate guarantees on the next years project. It will be clear in the coming days whether there will be a quick resolution to the dispute or whether it will be prolonged again.
